Üç Boyutlu Ses? / 3D Sound?

Hatırlar mısınız Google’ın bu Nisan 1’de kullanıcılarına yaptığı şakalardan biri de müthiş Google Burun’du. Şakadan habersiz, böyle bir şey keşfetmek takdir edersiniz ki insanda bir coşku uyandırıyor. Herhalde bir yarım saat kadar, ıslak köpek kokusundan yeni araba kokusuna, oturduğum yerden acaba neler neler koklayabilirim diye burnumu ekrana sokup debelendiğimi hatırlıyorum. Sonra erkek arkadaşımın gelip de "Yok şakaydı o" demesiyle hayal kırıklığına uğramış, ama bir o kadar da gülmüştüm kendime.

Peki neden gülmüştüm ki kendime? Çünkü böylesine bir gerçekliği sanal ortamda yakalamak çok akla mantığa yatmıyor gibiydi. Şimdiki meselemiz ise bunun kadar çarpıcı olmasa da yine ilgi çekici bulduğum bir yöntem. Bir ses kaydetme yöntemi. Nam-ı diğer "holophonics".

            Remember this years April Fools’ Day joke Google made? The amazing Google Nose. You see, discovering something like this –unaware of the joke- causes great excitement. I remember pushing my nose into the screen for about half an hour just to see what else I could smell; a wet dog or a new car? Great technology, huh? Of course, the moment my boyfriend clarified the joke for me, I was pretty disappointed, but then I equally laughed at myself.

Ok, but why did I even laugh at myself? Because I suppose it didn’t seem reasonable experimenting this kind of reality virtually. Not as interesting as Google’s idea of starting a new era in the communication world, our topic today is a method that I’d like to share. A sound recording method, also known as "holophonics".
